Merchants big and small can sign up with Google Offers. The business will create an Offer of the Day that will then be promoted by Google to their Google Offers subscribers. The first thing a business interested in using Google Offers will need to sign up for a Google Places account. Once a business has made an Offer of the Day the subscribers will buy the offer on that day. The payout will be received by the business in about 3 days or so. Google will take a 20% cut of the price paid by the customer.
Google Offers will do more for the business than just make the announcement to their subscribers. They have web copy professionals who will write enticing copy for that offer. If the business owner is not sure what service they would like to offer a deal of the day on Google Offers has a service team that will help them make the right choice. Google promises to promote the deal of the day on their Google Places home page making it easier for customers to find that deal right away.
Currently Google Offers is in Beta and is only in testing form. Portland, Oregon is the home of Google Offers Beta testing. Depending upon the success of Google Offers in Portland, Google plans on bringing Google Offers to Manhattan and San Francisco.
Google Offers may be in beta right now but there is no doubt that it benefits customers by offering them deals they would normally never get.
